If so, I believe the Hippocratic database would foster the development of a vital health informatics open source community that quickly would add value to the application.

The federal government, in partnership with the private sector, universities, federal laboratories, and state governments, should establish multi-disciplinary centers at institutions of higher learning throughout the country capable of bringing together researchers, practitioners, educators and students from appropriate fields of engineering, health sciences, management, social and behavioral sciences to address the quality and productivity challenges facing the nation’s health care delivery system.
